An Inquiry: I’ve been pretty depressed for about 3 months, mainly due to losing all of my friends and not really having anyone. However, I have started to make some new friends, so I thought I’d start feeling better, but I’ve been feeling worse and having very frequent panic/anxiety attacks that range from 5 seconds to half an hour. Why is this happening?
How We Would Answer:
I’ve been pretty depressed for about 3 months, mainly due to losing all of my friends and not really having anyone.
You do not get depressed because of worldly circumstances (like “losing all of my friends and not really having anyone”); you get depressed because you accept upsetting judgments as the truth. Emotions are caused by thoughts accepted as truth. As long as you accept upsetting judgments as the truth, you will be prone to emotional conditions like anxiety and depression.
