An Inquiry: Why is the world filled with so much hate, hunger, and war?
How We Would Respond: Ego influence. There is an accepted, collective belief that we are individual entities, quite separate from one another, and that we must maintain ourselves or we will perish. So we behave in ways, at times, that are inconsiderate of others for our own sake — at least as we see it.
There is also a lack of faith in God’s care for us. We believe we are on our own, that we must fend for ourselves, and that we are vulnerable. We do not, for the most part, have faith in God to take care of us.
We believe that we have separated from God, and that we now stand on our own.
