An inquiry: How do I love myself if no one loves me?
How We Would Respond: What other people do or don’t do, how other people feel or don’t feel, has no no bearing on your emotional well-being and has no bearing on how you feel about yourself. What affects your emotional well-being and how you feel about yourself is your thinking.
Even more specifically, what affects your emotional well-being and how you feel about yourself is what thoughts / judgments within your awareness that you accept as true. If you accept as true a judgment that says, more or less, ‘No one loves me and so I am a miserable person’ then you will surely suffer.
Emotional suffering is optional, not mandatory. There are certainly circumstances when it is quite challenging not to fall into emotional suffering; but emotional suffering is always within our own control.
